Man of Action was a series of radio programs in which well-known public figures presented a personal choice of records.

One of Jeremy's choices was Requiem in D minor by composer Gabriel Fauré.

He selected the piece again to feature during a 1991 interview for Desert Island Discs. He was speaking about the death of his wife, Joan, and then introduced the music with great emotion:

"I remember when I did Man of Action in London ... I dedicated this to the death of my mother who was killed in a car accident, so [long, emotional pause] I'll dedicate it to both of them."
