Ian McShane of Deadwood fame made his film debut in the lead role of Harry Brown, a lower-class troublemaker at an upscale provincial university. Harry becomes the protégé of Professor Chown and has a fling with Chown's wife -- a woman who frequently fools around with her husband's students. Andrew Gilby -- JB's character -- is one of those students having an affair with the professor's wife (Virginia Maskell).
